Cash Pay or Out-of-Network

My out of pocket cash fee is $175 for a 53 minute session for therapy and consultation. Reduced rates are offered on a limited basis. I can provide a Superbill at the end of the month that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement (for therapy services only).

Payment

I accept payment by debit or credit card, and payment is due in full at the beginning of each session. I require a credit card to be on file and will bill the card for each session as well as no-show appointments or late cancellations.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation must be made 48-hours prior to the start of the scheduled session. Clients who do not cancel 48-hours prior to the start of session will be charged for the full fee after a one-time fee waiver that renews at the first of each year.

Good Faith Estimate

You have a right to a “good faith estimate” under federal law (section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service act). This estimate is your expected medical care costs while you are in therapy. You will receive this estimate both orally and in writing when you begin therapeutic services from your therapist. The good faith estimate is only an estimate and your actual medical costs may differ. However, If there is a significant discrepancy between your estimate and your actual costs, you have the right to initiate the patient-provider dispute process. For more information about good faith estimates you may visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use out-of-network benefits?

In some cases you may be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits for therapy services only. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at time of appointment. I work with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network (OON) therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. You can sign up using this link.

Note: Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional, and as your therapist I do not benefit in any way from your participation. Mentaya does not apply to consultation services.

What if I can’t afford your rate? Do you offer a reduced rate?

I reserve a limited number of reduced rates spots in my practice. If you do not think you can afford my full fee, please don’t hesitate to contact me. If I’m unable to offer you a reduced rate spot and you’re hoping to find an affordable provider, Open Path Collective, is a great resource.

How can I get started?

The connection I build with my clients is key to successful outcomes. First you will schedule a free 20 minute introduction call to answer any questions you may have. If we both decide we're a good fit after this, then we'll schedule our first appointment. I'll send you a couple of quick forms to complete before our first session. I'll also send you a link for our video calls that you can use for all of our sessions.

What is the first therapy session like?

The first one to two sessions will start with an assessment where I will ask a variety of questions that help me identify the best way to support you with your life’s current challenges. Some questions I like to ask include:

  • What brought you to therapy?

  • Have you previously gone to therapy? How was that experience? What worked and what didn’t work for you?

  • What are your expectations and goals for therapy?

  • What would you like me to know about you and your life journey that shapes who you are today and your current challenges?

How often will we meet?

For therapy, I ask that all new clients commit to meeting weekly, for at least the first 8 weeks. This will allow us to start off on a strong foot and build a foundation. I may recommend that we increase or decrease the frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.

For consultation, we can meet as often as you decide depending on what your specific needs are.

How long does therapy last?

I am a strength-based and solution-focused therapist. Every person’s journey is different so the length of time my clients stay in therapy will depend on multiple factors, such as your needs and your goals. On average, it is common for people to graduate from therapy in about 6 to 9 months.
